London and Edinburgh Moonwalk Animation

In May I went along to see how everything was looking at Walk the Walk’s Famous pink tent. This is the second year I have created the animation’s for the two large screens at either side of the stage. It was great to finally see my work enlarged and how the event is run just before thousands of walkers arrive to stride the streets for the Moonwalk London 2013, to unite against breat cancer. This year the theme was Outer Space and in Edinburgh it was the Swinging 60’s.

Up close to one of the screens, showing the Welcome to London movie:

Patchwork Footballs that Jingle!

I’ve been enjoying sewing these for new babies. My eldest son has also been enjoying helping me by eating Kinder Surprise chocolates, to leave me with the toy case – which I then put in a bell or rice to make it rattle.

Grimm's Fairy Tales

Once upon a time, back in April I drew this at another one of 'Brightons Life Drawing' classes. It was just a 20mins pose if I had more time I would have added more of a thorny wall or back ground.

Jubilee Jamboree

I designed this poster for my son’s school fete. It had to show hints of the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics – so I added the red, blue and white bunting and the doughnuts in the shape of the Olympic logo. I also created a black  & white version for the kids to colour in themselves. I created the poster in adobe flash.

A Piccardy Langoustine

I drew this a couple of weeks ago on holiday in France, I was hoping to then paint it's vibrant pink colours - but it was almost dinner time and it had to get cooked : (
I'll now have to colour it from memory - so another update of this wee guy will appear soonish.

Pin Cushion for Nik

I made this for a good sewing pal of mine. I based the shape on a pumpkin, last year we both tried to grow some = I failed, she succeeded : )

This is for you Mum : )

Just made this for my Mum's Mother's Day card. A picture combining lots of items that make me think of her -  Hyacinths (which mum always grew in our little attic) placed in an old chutney jar, with some of her watercolour brushes.

I drew this with a calligraphy pen and I'm loving all the different lines you can get and even the splodges!

Circus and Puppet themed Life Drawing

I’ve been to two great life drawing sessions recently with ‘Brighton Life Drawing Studios’ Each time there has been a theatrical theme, the first one was Strings then Circus, with fascinating props with models in very strong poses. I’ve been to loads of life drawing classes privately and at college and this has been the first time I have ever drawn two people together, it’s good practice but tough!

Here are some of my sketches from the two nights, they were too large to scan so had to take photos of them. Next time I hope to add colour.
